The Ayuntamiento de La Unión has begun the installation of surveillance cameras at eight strategic locations throughout the municipality. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance citizen safety, deter illegal dumping of debris, and assist in the investigation of traffic accidents.

In total, the town has deployed sixteen cameras across various locations, including the two administrative divisions of Roche and Portmán. These systems are designed to monitor and collect data efficiently, utilising artificial intelligence technology.

The artificial intelligence capabilities allow for the gathering of information about vehicles and pedestrians without requiring a full review of footage. Users can input specific parameters into a search engine that retrieves relevant data quickly.

This initiative has been reported by the Ayuntamiento as a crucial step towards improving overall safety and maintaining public order in La Unión. The local government is optimistic that these measures will yield positive results in the community.
