Recent data reveals that forty-three percent of the tap water in Alicante province is now sourced from desalination, overtaking the water supplied through the transfer system in major municipalities. This shift highlights the growing reliance on desalination technology to meet the region’s water demands.
In related news, the reopening of the Levante breakwater promenade in Torrevieja has been postponed and is now expected to take place at the end of September. Residents and visitors will have to wait longer to enjoy the scenic walkway.
Additionally, after a red alert was issued due to extreme heat, a yellow warning for rain has now been announced for the Alicante area. Authorities are advising caution as weather conditions remain unpredictable.
