The Town Hall of Los Alcázares, through its Tourism Department, has approved the construction of a new Tourist Office that will provide both in-person and online assistance around the clock for residents and visitors. The project has a budget of one hundred and fifty-one thousand seven hundred and eighty-one euros and is set to go to tender in the coming weeks. It is anticipated that the office will commence operations by the end of this year or the beginning of twenty twenty-six.

This new facility will cover an area of nearly forty square metres and is strategically located on the Avenida Río Nalón, one of the municipality’s major commercial hubs, surrounded by hotels, tourist accommodations, and shops in a recently renovated area. The building will feature a glass façade, a green roof, and efficient climate control to ensure a modern and accessible service tailored to current tourism needs.

The project will also incorporate advanced technology, such as interactive screens available for continuous use, funded through the Third Axis of the Sustainable Tourism Plan, with resources from the European ‘Next Generation’ funds. This initiative is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union, focused on modernisation and competitiveness in the tourism sector.

Tourism Councillor María José Díaz Aragón has stated that the office will be “an open, approachable, and accessible space, designed for any visitor to receive assistance, plan their stay, and discover everything our municipality has to offer.” Aragón sees this development as a significant step in consolidating Los Alcázares as a smart tourist destination.
