A fire has ravaged a laundrette in the municipality of Torrevieja on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately eight o’clock when the emergency services were alerted to the blaze. Firefighters swiftly arrived on the scene and began their efforts to extinguish the flames.

The fire had spread throughout the establishment located on Moncayo Street. As firefighters mobilised, local police worked to locate the owner to facilitate access to the premises. Upon arrival, the firefighters identified the source of the fire on a shelf in the corner of the laundrette.

They were able to halt the spread of the fire, preventing it from reaching other critical areas. Thanks to their quick actions, the firefighters from the Provincial Consortium managed to protect the machinery and numerous bags of laundry, which, if ignited, could have worsened the situation significantly.

No injuries have been reported following the incident, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to follow.
