Three Turkish men have been arrested in Torrevieja, Spain, for the murder of twenty-one-year-old Caner Koçer, who was shot dead in an apparent gang-related incident. The suspects, who are wanted for serious crimes in Turkey including murder, were identified through fingerprint evidence. They were apprehended shortly after Koçer was attacked near his hotel, where he had been staying following a previous attempt on his life in July.

Koçer had recently moved to the Alicante province from the Costa del Sol, seeking safety after surviving a previous assassination attempt. On the twentieth of July, he was involved in a shooting incident in Estepona, where two groups exchanged nearly thirty gunshots. Despite the violence, Koçer briefly escaped unscathed, but other members of his group were injured, highlighting the ongoing feud.

The investigation has revealed that prior to his death, Koçer was seeking asylum in Spain, having made an appointment with the Alicante Provincial Police. Unfortunately, the assailants had tracked him down, leading to his tragic demise. During the arrest of the three suspects, police seized four firearms, further linking them to the criminal underworld in Turkey and a pattern of drug-related violence, as they were previously arrested in a major drug trafficking operation earlier this year.

The examination of the weapons and bullet casings found at the crime scene is ongoing, and the court in Torrevieja awaits these crucial forensic results. Koçer was shot three times in the head, chest, and hand, and his family is pursuing legal action against his attackers. The arrested individuals are currently held in Fontcalent prison while the investigation continues into their criminal connections and motivations behind the violent attack.
