The Guardia Civil of the Murcia Region, in collaboration with the Local Police of Mazarrón, has arrested a man linked to a violent car theft followed by a road accident in Puerto de Mazarrón. The incidents began last week when officers were alerted to a car theft where a man reportedly forced a mother, along with her young son, out of their vehicle at a traffic light.

Following a coordinated response from the police, further investigations revealed that the same suspect had stolen another vehicle that morning, and had caused injuries to a victim during the theft. The local authorities soon linked both thefts to the individual in custody, who subsequently crashed the stolen vehicle.

Eyewitnesses noted the reckless driving of the suspect, who allegedly collided with several parked cars while under the influence of drugs, creating panic among local residents. Upon his arrest, police discovered numerous stolen mobile phones, bank cards, and cash in his possession.

As investigations continued, another victim came forward claiming to have been assaulted by the suspect shortly before the vehicle thefts. The assailant is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the subsequent accident. Legal proceedings are underway, including charges for robbery, drug-related offences and traffic safety violations.
