The Town Council of Torrevieja has announced the sixteenth edition of the Young Entrepreneurs Awards, aimed at fostering local youth talent and entrepreneurship. Applications for the awards open tomorrow, the fifth of August, and will remain open until the eighth of September. These awards consolidate their importance as a key municipal initiative to promote young talent and entrepreneurship in the area.

Domingo Paredes, the Councillor for Employment and Entrepreneurship, emphasised the significance of recognising the creativity and organisational skills of young entrepreneurs. He stated that these awards are crucial for building the future of Torrevieja. The initiative supports the local economy by enhancing the visibility of new business endeavours and aims to strengthen the positive image of young entrepreneurs.

The awards will particularly favour projects linked to key sectors, including tourism, local commerce, new technologies, building rehabilitation, environmental sustainability, sports, culture, and leisure activities. Innovation will be highly valued as a competitive strategy, alongside the feasibility and long-term viability of the submitted projects.

Eligible participants must be individuals or legal entities based in Torrevieja, aged thirty-five or under by the eighth of September, as well as companies with at least fifty-one percent of their capital held by young people in that age bracket. The total prize pool of twelve thousand euros will be awarded as follows: first prize of seven thousand euros, second prize of three thousand five hundred euros, and third prize of one thousand five hundred euros.
