The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has conducted an investigation in Torre Pacheco to clarify a series of crimes against property in public spaces, homes, and businesses. This has resulted in the identification, location, and arrest of a woman suspected of robbery with force, robbery with violence and intimidation, theft, and fraud. So far, the investigation has identified approximately ten criminal acts and recovered stolen items, which have been returned to their legitimate owners.

The investigation commenced several months ago when the public security prevention officers noticed an increase in robberies within the municipality, including incidents of violence against victims, causing social alarm. In the early stages, the officers followed leads on several house and vehicle break-ins and conducted thorough technical inspections and inquiries to understand the modus operandi and identify the perpetrator.

As the investigation progressed, the officers identified a woman allegedly responsible for the crimes, leading to the recovery of numerous stolen items including golf clubs, technological devices, bicycles, and an electric scooter, all returned to their rightful owners. The investigation specialists pinpointed the main suspect, discovering that she did not reside in the area and was living illegally with individuals linked to criminal behaviour.

During the investigation’s final stages, it was noted that the suspect altered her methods, becoming increasingly violent when committing her crimes. She used blunt or sharp objects to assault elderly individuals, particularly those with reduced mobility. In one incident, she entered the home of an octogenarian, wielding a screwdriver and attempting to rob him of five euros, injuring him and a neighbour who intervened. In another case, she violently pushed a man in his seventies as he exited his home, causing him injuries. The arrested woman also used any stolen bank cards to make purchases at local shops. The search efforts concluded successfully with her location and arrest.
