Following the violent events in Torre Pacheco, which stemmed from an assault on an elderly man on the ninth of July, seven hundred individuals have been identified. The situation has seen one hundred and forty people reported for offences and ten arrests made. The director general of the Civil Guard, Mercedes González, visited the town to commend the officers involved in the operation and meet with local authorities, including the mayor.

González expressed relief that normality and coexistence have returned to the municipality shortly after the unrest. She confirmed that, although the situation appears to have been resolved, the investigation remains active and is being conducted under a secrecy order. A security operation involving two hundred agents, which had been in place in recent days, has since been concluded.

During her visit, González highlighted the rapid response by law enforcement, citing that within seventy-two hours, two assailants involved in the violent incident were identified and apprehended. On the fourth day following the attack, the main suspect was detained just as he attempted to leave the country, aided by cooperation with other police forces. Additionally, a presumed instigator of the violent gatherings has been remanded in custody without bail.

The authorities remain vigilant to ensure the safety and security of the community, as they continue to monitor the situation following the recent disturbances in Torre Pacheco.
