The Torrevieja City Council has recently approved the fifth modified project for the urbanisation of the port and its adjacent areas, resulting in an additional cost of four hundred and eighty-six thousand six hundred and sixty-six euros—an increase of eighteen point three per cent over the original budget. This modification intends to adjust the foundation of the Levante Pier ramp according to the outcomes of geotechnical tests that were not considered in the initial plans.

The updates involve a variation in the foundation system of the structure and modifications to the rainwater pumping works by Agamed. The timeframe for finalising the modified project is set for one month. Meanwhile, construction work is being coordinated with Empresas del Sol, the concessionaire for the port area, to connect the Levante Pier to the leisure area Paseo del Mar.

The Torrevieja City Council has reconfirmed that the repaving and repair works of the Levante Pier will not conclude as planned in July, thus delaying the reopening of the popular promenade until August. The project, spanning one thousand two hundred and forty-seven linear metres along the Mediterranean Sea and the bay, carries an investment of six million five hundred and forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty-three euros, including VAT. It has been closed to the public since last November, and the works were initially scheduled to finish in July within a nine-month timeframe.

In further developments, the council has also authorised an extension of two months for the recovery of Muelle Mínguez, due to delays caused by unforeseen services, weather conditions, and coordination with the leisure centre. Additionally, the final two contracts to complete the European grant for the Low Emission Zone have been approved, targeting traffic control in the city centre and improving access routes to schools and the Low Emission Zone on bicycles.
