Mercedes González, the director general of the Guardia Civil, will visit the Torre Pacheco barracks on Tuesday to congratulate officers on their efforts in a recent operation that led to several arrests. The disturbances in Torre Pacheco began in mid-July following a violent attack by three individuals against an elderly man, who sustained various injuries.

The Guardia Civil has identified approximately three hundred individuals associated with these disturbances. Last week, the government delegate, Mariola Guevara, stressed the importance of identifying all involved in order for them to face appropriate consequences. She stated that individuals identified will be investigated for possible administrative infractions or other offences.

This ongoing investigation aims to scrutinise all individuals implicated, ensuring that if any infractions have occurred, they will be held accountable. Guevara noted that prior to the events in Torre Pacheco, there were attempts to incite disturbances in another municipality, indicating that radical and far-right groups are seeking out any incidents to generate conflicts.

The Guardia Civil remains committed to maintaining order and ensuring that those responsible for fostering unrest are brought to justice. The authorities will continue their efforts to resolve the situation and restore peace within the community.
