The new electric bus operated by Movibus has officially started its service in La Manga, connecting Cabo de Palos with Veneziola. Announced by José Antonio Verdú, the General Director of Mobility and Transport, this service is part of a summer initiative to accommodate the surge in tourism in the area. The route forty-four has been reinforced with more frequent service to meet the demand.

In his remarks, Verdú noted that the introduction of this electric vehicle not only enhances user experience but also actively contributes to lowering emissions and noise levels in the busy summer regions. By incorporating the latest electric mobility technology, the project aims to promote a more sustainable, accessible, and efficient transport system in the Region of Murcia.

The electric bus is part of Movibus’s new fleet, which represents a significant investment of over twenty-eight million euros, supported by both European Next Generation funding and the regional government. This modernisation initiative is designed to offer both citizens and visitors a viable alternative to private vehicle use during the peak tourist season.

Additionally, the new vehicle has been designed with enhanced accessibility features, making it easier for individuals with reduced mobility to travel. The overall plan reflects a commitment to improving public transport options in the region, ensuring a cleaner and more effective travel experience for everyone.
