The local government of Torrevieja has approved the contracting process for a new heated swimming pool at the Ciudad Deportiva, with a budget set at eighty-seven thousand four hundred ninety-nine euros. The facility will measure twenty-five metres in length and twelve point five metres in width, designed for warming up and aquatic activities.

Located behind the existing Olympic-sized pool, the project will ensure direct communication between the current sports facilities, which include the swimming pool and football pitches. Plans include the reorganisation of outdoor spaces with a focus on parking and landscaping enhancements.

In addition, the heating of the pool water will rely on sustainable energy support, utilising the existing boiler room for both pools. The facility will also incorporate interior seating for user relaxation purposes.

Under other developments, the council will now oversee the project design for the planned Maritime Museum after the initial contractor stepped down. Improvements to existing buildings, bathroom maintenance for beaches, and the allocation of services for sun loungers and umbrellas have also been addressed in the recent council meeting.
