Hotels along the Costa Cálida experienced a noteworthy occupancy rate of eighty-one percent during the first half of July, as reported by the regional tourism authority. This figure represents a five-point increase from the same period last year, signalling a resurgence in the area’s tourism sector.

The Mar Menor region was particularly successful, achieving an occupancy rate of eighty-one percent, which is twelve points higher than last year. La Manga also contributed positively, reporting an occupancy rate of eighty-three percent, up four points from the previous year. Meanwhile, Mazarrón reached seventy-seven percent, while Águilas saw a seventy-two percent occupancy rate.

Juan Francisco Martínez, director of the Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia, noted that, barring last-minute bookings, the region is likely to finish July with high occupancy levels. Recently, June saw record figures with eighty-two percent occupancy compared to seventy-eight percent in twenty twenty-four and seventy-six percent in twenty twenty-three. This trend indicates a robust and growing tourism destination.

The survey also highlighted occupancy rates in other cities; Murcia reported sixty-four percent, Cartagena maintained seventy-one percent, and the Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras area noted sixty-six percent occupancy, three points higher than in twenty twenty-four. Additionally, spas enjoyed an occupancy rate of eighty-four percent, a ten-point increase from last year, further demonstrating the allure of Costa Cálida as a premier holiday spot.
