The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has launched a project to enhance drainage on the RM-19 motorway. This initiative focuses on the installation of new concrete frameworks between the twenty-three point three and twenty-four point two kilometre markers, aimed at preventing flooding during heavy rainfall. The regional government plans to allocate over one point two million euros to this second phase of the project, which has been deemed vital for ensuring smooth traffic flow.

Companies interested in participating in the bid can submit their proposals until the fifth of September. The improvements seek to increase hydraulic capacity on one of the region’s most significant motorways, ensuring safety for over ten point five million users that travel this important route annually.

Jorge García Montoro, the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, emphasised that the updated structures will effectively drain the road during intense rainfall, minimising disruption and enhancing overall traffic safety. This new phase builds upon previous work done on the RM-19, which connects the A-30 and the AP-7 motorways.

Overall, the combined investment from both phases of the project will amount to one point eight million euros, highlighting the commitment to improving regional infrastructure aimed at increasing public safety and traffic efficiency.
