Emergency services were deployed to La Manga beach on Wednesday after a twenty year old man required rescue while swimming. The incident occurred at Banco del Tabal beach, where a yellow flag indicating moderate surf was flying. Witnesses reported that the man was unable to get back to shore around twelve-thirty in the afternoon.

Lifeguards responded quickly, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation until a mobile emergency unit arrived on the scene. The situation was critical, but the quick actions of the lifeguards helped stabilise the young man.

Upon stabilisation, the swimmer was transported to Santa Lucía Hospital in Cartagena for further treatment. Authorities remind beachgoers to be cautious, especially when yellow flags are displayed, indicating potentially dangerous conditions.
