Renovation works at the Sports City of Torrevieja are moving ahead efficiently, focusing on several key improvements. This project encompasses the repair of seven padel courts, two frontenis courts, and the introduction of a new cafeteria. With a municipal investment exceeding one million euros, these works, which began earlier this year, are scheduled for completion by September, coinciding with the start of the ‘Escuelas Municipales Deportivas’ season.

Mayor Eduardo Dolón, along with Sports Councillor Diana Box and project architect María Fernández from Pavasal S.A., reviewed the progress today. Dolón reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the citizens, particularly regarding the modernised padel courts. The investment in sports infrastructure by the local council over the past five years has surpassed twenty million euros.

The seven new panoramic padel courts will comply with World Padel Tour standards, featuring fibrous artificial grass and energy-efficient LED lighting. Additionally, modifications will enhance accessibility across the facility. Improvements to the two frontenis courts include upgraded lighting and a redesign for easier maintenance access.

The construction of a cafeteria is also underway, designed to provide users and their families a welcoming leisure space. Simultaneously, other installations within the Sports City are receiving upgrades, such as energy-efficient lighting on tennis courts and enhancements to the gym’s water supply system. These developments aim to create a comprehensive sports environment for all users.
