Just after midnight on July 8, several units from Almoradà Fire Department responded to a battery factory in Guardamar del Segura following a blaze in an electrical substation. The fire produced a substantial plume of toxic smoke, prompting the evacuation of the premises. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire during the early hours, preventing it from reaching any adjacent chemical storage areas and averting further danger
Although no injuries have been reported, the heavy smoke raised environmental and health concerns for nearby residents. Local authorities are monitoring air quality and investigating the incident’s cause. The quick response by Bomberos Almoradà and coordination with regional emergency services ensured the incident was contained swiftly .
