A fire in Torre Pacheco resulted in smoke inhalation for two individuals on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred in the Roldán area at approximately four zero five PM, prompting numerous emergency calls to the emergency coordination centre. The blaze affected two lorries, a shed, and a pile of construction materials, generating thick black smoke visible from a distance.

Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium quickly arrived on the scene, along with a mobile emergency unit staffed by medics from the 061 Health Emergencies Management. The fire was extinguished by seven twenty-two PM, limiting further damage and preventing further injuries.

The two individuals affected were a fifty-two-year-old man and a twenty-five-year-old man, both of whom received immediate care for smoke inhalation. They were later able to make their own way to a healthcare facility for further examination and treatment. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported as a result of this incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire, which has raised concerns about potential safety measures in areas storing construction materials.
