The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, along with city councillor Sandra Sánchez and project director Cayetano Bernabé, inspected the ongoing renovations of the Dique de Levante today. The undertaking covers one thousand two hundred and forty-seven metres and has an investment of six million five hundred and forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty-three euros including VAT. Dolón highlighted the high level of execution, with the metal structure and parament improvements fully completed. Additionally, placement of the new technical pavement is well advanced, with pre-fabricated concrete bench modules and stainless steel railings now being installed.

Eduardo Dolón noted that if the current pace of work continues, the project is expected to be completed in August. There have been some minor delays due to adverse weather conditions over the winter and spring, including rain and strong winds, as well as delays in the supply of architectural and monumental lighting financed by the Next Generation Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

In addition to the Dique de Levante renovations, the Mayor addressed ongoing urbanization works around the port area, particularly those related to the fairground site. Currently, work is progressing on the utility channeling throughout this region. Further, Dolón stated that the connection platform linking the Dique de Levante to the leisure centre is being organised in coordination with the centre’s concessionaire.

Finally, the Mayor expressed the city’s intention to open the leisure centre along with the completed urbanization of its surrounding area, while also ensuring that the connection platform of the Dique de Levante and the recovery of the Muelle Mínguez are finalised. This ambitious plan aims to enhance the coastal area’s accessibility and facilities for locals and visitors alike.
