The San Pedro del Pinatar Town Council has imposed a fine of sixty thousand euros on the waste collection company STV due to significant breaches of contract. The council classified these breaches as serious, which prompted the financial penalty.
This decision was made after recent municipal inspections identified deficiencies in the waste management service, raising concerns among local authorities about the operational standards of the private company.
The issue arises shortly after the council awarded a contract valued at twenty-three million euros to STV for waste collection over the next ten years. This contract was expected to enhance waste management in the area.
Local officials have expressed their commitment to ensuring effective service delivery and compliance with contract terms, while residents await improvements in the waste collection process.
