An Irishman, aged thirty, sustained injuries from a stabbing in Playa Flamenca on Saturday. The incident took place on Jalón Street, which runs parallel to the Las Estacas stream, close to the junction with Salvador Dalí. Local police were first on the scene, administering first aid until the ambulance arrived. Although the victim was aware of his assailant’s identity, he chose not to reveal it.

The following morning, fresh evidence of the attack remained visible, with blood stains evident beside some abandoned electricity supply meters. This stabbing incident follows a recent shooting in the same area that left a twenty-one-year-old Irishman in critical condition.

In connection with that earlier incident, two Irish nationals, aged twenty-seven and forty-five, were detained by the Civil Guard. One of them was identified as the suspected shooter and has been remanded in custody without bail, while the second is out on provisional release but has been prohibited from leaving the country.

Community members have expressed concerns over rising insecurity in the area. Recent violent events, including attempts at kidnapping, have prompted calls for increased police presence and surveillance to ensure the safety of residents along the Orihuela coastline.
