A spectacular aerial show is attracting thousands of spectators to the Mar Menor today, featuring over thirty aircraft from six countries. The Aire Twenty Five festival, hailed as unprecedented in Spanish aviation history, is being enjoyed by families and aviation enthusiasts alike. King Felipe VI is present at the event, observing the displays from a beachside location along with military officials and Defence Minister Margarita Robles.

From early morning, crowds flocked to the coast, filling car parks and setting up on the sandy beaches with umbrellas and coolers. The show ignited with the Patrouille Acrobática de Paracaidismo showcasing their parachuting skills, followed by impressive aerial displays from the Spanish Air Force and various international teams.

Among the highlights are the CH-47 Chinook helicopter and the historical Northrop F-5, both of which garnered enthusiastic applause from the audience. The festival also features classic aircraft like the Bücker and T-6 Texan, reviving memories of early aviation, alongside modern jets like the F-18 Hornet demonstrating their impressive capabilities.

As the day continues, crowds await further thrilling performances from several demonstration teams, including the Frecce Tricolori and the Pilatus aircraft, which is set to replace the C-101. The event promises to captivate onlookers right through to the closing display later this afternoon.
