La Guardia Civil has dismantled a significant criminal network linked to arms and drug trafficking in various regions of Spain, including Alicante, Murcia, and Cádiz. This operation, named Resolute, involved conducting sixteen searches, leading to the seizure of firearms, drugs, and a sum of cash. A total of eighteen people have been arrested, and six others are facing charges.

Investigations revealed that the organization supplied weapons, including rifles and shotguns, to narcotraffickers for the security of marijuana plantations. These arms were often purchased legally by individuals with gun licenses, who then falsely reported their theft to enter these weapons into the black market.

In addition to arms trafficking, the network managed indoor marijuana plantations, which were secured with illegal firearms. Surveillance was conducted using wifi cameras from other provinces. Five operations resulted in the dismantling of these plantations, where agents discovered weapons protecting the cannabis crops. A substantial part of these operations has taken place within Alicante and Murcia.

The group also engaged in extortion, targeting individuals with predatory loans and seizing properties and vehicles as a means of repayment. Funds acquired from drug and arms trafficking were laundered through the purchase of luxury cars and properties under the names of third parties. The operation has been coordinated by the Investigating Court Number Three in Molina del Segura, Murcia.
