On the tenth of June two thousand twenty-five, San Pedro del Pinatar announced plans for a bioclimatic park aimed at capturing rainwater from the urban area. This initiative will help manage water flow towards Lo Pagán and the Mar Menor.
The chosen site for the project is located in Villa AlegrÃa, an area frequently travelled on the way to the shores of Lo Pagán. The design includes features that will retain rainwater and provide a natural barrier against waste entering the Mar Menor.
Additionally, the park will serve as a green lung for the community, situated close to the Avenida de la RomerÃa de la Virgen del Carmen. This project aims to enhance the local environment while addressing sustainability concerns.
Residents can expect increased green space that not only benefits the ecosystem but also improves recreational options for the community.
