The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, alongside Councillor for Public Space Occupation, Federico Alarcón, inaugurated a new public toilet at Plaza Waldo Calero today. This opening is part of a broader initiative to install five public toilets in busy areas of the city. The project, awarded to ABALA INFRAESTRUCTURAS, S.L., involved a total investment of three hundred ninety-eight thousand five hundred eighty-three euros.

Dolón highlighted the necessity of these facilities, stating that they had been eagerly awaited by both locals and visitors. He affirmed that providing well-maintained public toilets enhances the overall experience for everyone in Torrevieja.

The newly installed toilets are equipped with several modern features, aimed at ensuring convenience and cleanliness. They include a programmable electronic device that manages access and various systems such as occupancy indicators, digital timers, and self-cleaning capabilities. Customers will pay fifty pence for a fifteen-minute use.

Furthermore, Dolón called upon the community to take responsibility for the upkeep of these installations, urging citizens to use them respectfully to ensure they remain in good condition for future use. The toilets are strategically located at key points, including Paseo Juan Aparicio, El Cura beach, and Parque Doña Perfecta Rodríguez, facilitating access for all users.
