The Guardia Civil, in collaboration with the Local Police of Mazarrón, has dismantled an illegal cannabis greenhouse in a residence in Puerto de Mazarrón. During this operation, law enforcement seized one hundred and fifty-seven cannabis plants in an advanced state of growth. One individual was arrested while another is under investigation for their suspected involvement in drug-related crimes and electricity fraud.

The operation began in March when the Local Police alerted the Guardia Civil about the potential existence of a cannabis plantation in a residential property. Following thorough investigations, officers gained entry to the premises, where they discovered a specially equipped room with advanced lighting and ventilation systems designed to mask any odour that could alert neighbours.

This significant operation underscores the commitment of local authorities in combating drug-related offences. The arrested individual, aged thirty-five, and the other under investigation, aged forty-four, are both Spanish nationals.

They have since been placed at the disposal of judicial authorities for further proceedings. Authorities continue to encourage the community to report any suspicious activities which may indicate illegal drug cultivation in the area.
