The Local Government Board has approved the conditions for acquiring a new set of handguns for the Local Police of Torrevieja, with an investment of over forty one thousand euros. Federico Alarcón, the Secretary of the Board and head of the Local Police department, confirmed this new acquisition as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety.

The study regarding the expansion of the current police facilities is still open, as officials contemplate two proposals. One option is to extend the existing police station, while the other considers relocating. This deliberation is prompted by the significant increase in both personnel and resources within the Local Police, highlighting the need for improved infrastructure.

Alarcón mentioned that various alternative options are being evaluated to determine what would be most beneficial for the council in terms of quality and cost. Additionally, some police units are also being relocated, with plans to make use of the former ‘casilla de los peones camineros,’ which previously housed the Operative Reinforcement Group. This space may accommodate twenty one new mobility agents approved by the Negotiation Board, focusing mainly on traffic duties in collaboration with local police.

In other developments, the Government Board approved the second extension for software application in the Municipal Register for an amount exceeding nine thousand euros. The environmental assessment process for the La Hoya Partial Plan has also been initiated, relating to the construction of affordable housing, following the Plan Vive initiative. Furthermore, the Board awarded contracts for three events related to the Superliga Domino’s video game final, with a total cost of two hundred fifteen thousand four hundred eighty five euros.
