An elderly man, aged seventy, tragically lost his life this morning due to a drowning incident at Los Náufragos beach in the municipality of Torrevieja. Emergency services were alerted just after eleven o’clock and quickly dispatched a basic life support unit and a medical emergency unit to the scene.
Upon arrival, healthcare professionals from the medical emergency unit attempted several minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but unfortunately, the man did not respond to their efforts. He was pronounced dead at the beach soon after the incident.
Currently, no additional information has been released regarding the circumstances leading to the drowning, including whether the man was alone or accompanied at the time. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact causes of death.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of beach safety, particularly for elderly individuals who may be more vulnerable in water-related emergencies.
