San Javier is buzzing with excitement today as it kicks off the twenty-first edition of the Hot Rally. From Thursday to Sunday, the plaza of España and the Barnuevo esplanade will become the hub for motorcycling enthusiasts. This year, organisers expect to attract around ten thousand visitors, along with more than three thousand motorcycles on display.

The event was introduced by Mayor José Miguel Luengo, Andrés Soto, the director of Hot Rally Murcia, and Isabel Madrid, the Councillor for Fiestas. They highlighted that part of the proceeds from the bar will be donated to the Aladina Foundation, which supports children battling cancer. Mayor Luengo described the Hot Rally as a beloved classic, emphasising its promotional value for the municipality. Tourists are known to book their accommodation here well in advance for this popular event.

Soto introduced the event’s schedule, featuring activities alongside the scenic Mar Menor, including an official opening that will occur this Friday evening at half-past eight. The festivities will include a range of live music, with performances from tribute bands and regional acts as part of the celebration of the club’s twenty-five-year anniversary. The highlight will be a parade on Sunday and a communal paella for all attendees.

Furthermore, the Bike Show will showcase top riders from Spain, who will compete for recognition and prizes. Mayor Luengo expressed gratitude to the organising club for hosting this event each year and extended an invitation to everyone, stating that even those without motorcycles are welcome to enjoy the spectacle and join the festivities.
