On Wednesday, Salvamento Marítimo successfully rescued nine migrants from a small boat approximately forty miles off the Alicante coast. The operation was initiated after a French patrol reported the sighting of the distressed vessel, which was without fuel and in need of immediate assistance. The alert was made at eleven twenty-five in the morning, prompting a swift response from Spanish authorities.

The Salvamar Leo, a rescue vessel, was dispatched to the scene under the coordination of Salvamento Marítimo based in Valencia. Following their timely arrival, the crew managed to rescue the nine individuals from the sinking boat before transporting them back to Alicante.

The rescue team docked at the port of Alicante at three fifty in the afternoon, where the migrants were met by medical personnel from Cruz Roja. Sources indicate that all those rescued are adult males, and importantly, there were no minors among them.

Humanitarian representatives from Cruz Roja have reported that the rescued individuals are in good health, providing relief after a tense and dangerous situation at sea. Efforts to provide assistance and care for the migrants have begun as authorities continue to address issues related to maritime migration.
