Emergency services have confirmed the death of a man who was struck by a train on its route from Murcia to Cartagena. The tragic incident occurred in Torre Pacheco at approximately twelve thirty-three in the afternoon, close to a footbridge.
The train, part of the ADIF system, reported hitting the individual at kilometre point five hundred and four, specifically in the Balsicas-Torre Pacheco section. Upon notification, the Emergency Coordination Centre responded promptly.
A medical unit from the Emergency and Urgent Health Management and local civil protection teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries as confirmed by hospital staff.
At present, the circumstances leading to the accident are under investigation, with local police and Guardia Civil involved in the inquiry. Further details regarding the identity of the deceased have not yet been released.
