Torre Pacheco inaugurated its new football pitch located at the José Antonio García sports complex. The ceremony was marked by an exhibition match between the women’s team and the youth team from the local football school. Mayor Pedro Ángel Roca stated that this investment represents a commitment to enhancing local sports facilities, with total spending reaching three million euros for various infrastructure improvements in the area.

The new pitch features FIFA Quality certified synthetic grass, designed to withstand ultraviolet rays. It includes a comfortable base composed of five centimetres of asphalt and is equipped with an automated irrigation system and modern lighting. The total investment for this project amounted to three hundred ten thousand euros, with funding provided jointly by the local council and the Regional Government of Murcia.

While unveiling the pitch, the Mayor emphasised the significance of delivering on long-standing community requests for better sports amenities. This development serves not only urban Torre Pacheco but also its surrounding districts, fulfilling decades-long demands from local residents.

Looking ahead, Mayor Roca announced further improvements, including renovations to natural grass pitches in nearby areas, and enhancements to the sports pavilion in El Jimenado. These initiatives aim to keep Torre Pacheco focused on becoming the region’s sports hub in two thousand twenty-five, ensuring the community benefits from modern, high-quality sports facilities.
