A wildfire broke out yesterday afternoon in La Hita, located between the municipalities of San Javier and Los Alcázares. Fire officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control at ten o’clock in the evening. The blaze affected an estimated twenty-five hectares of land in the area.

More than sixty personnel from the Infomur Plan, including firefighters from the CEIS and the General Air Academy, environmental agents, ground and helicopter forest brigades, as well as members of Civil Protection, and the Local Police of Los Alcázares and San Javier, worked collaboratively to extinguish the fire.

At this time, two environmental agents and a forest brigade from the Wildfire Defence Unit remain at the site to monitor the area. Meanwhile, the Environmental Crime Investigation Brigade from the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Climate Action has commenced an investigation into the causes of the fire.
