The Guardia Civil has apprehended two men, aged sixty-two and forty-eight, as part of operation Tafi24 for their involvement in over eighty break-ins across residential properties in Jávea. The investigation commenced in July twenty twenty-four when authorities detected a surge in burglaries occurring while homes were vacant, using a slip-in method to gain entry.

Following extensive investigations, discrete surveillance, and intelligence work, officers successfully identified the suspects on the ninth of April. This resulted in three searches in Alicante and one in Villajoyosa, supported by the Grupo de Reserva y Seguridad from Barcelona, as well as collaboration from local units to ensure a safe operation.

During the searches, numerous valuable items were recovered, including high-end jewellery, electronic devices, and various currencies. Some of the stolen goods have already been returned to their rightful owners. The inquiry has revealed that this was an established gang known for their systematic approach to robbery.

Both suspects, of Algerian nationality and with prior criminal records, are currently in custody pending proceedings in the Court of Instruction number two in Denia. The Guardia Civil emphasises the importance of reporting any suspicious activity in residential areas and appreciates public cooperation, vital for tackling such crimes effectively.
