Man jailed for €30,000 awning scam in Santa Pola

A 45-year-old man has been remanded in custody after allegedly defrauding six residents of Santa Pola in Alicante out of more than 30,000 euros through a fake awning installation business. A newly detected virus in citrus fields across Alicante province is threatening to devastate lemon production, with estimates suggesting up to 500,000 trees may need to be uprooted.
