Four men have been arrested in Orihuela Costa after a man was allegedly held and assaulted inside a premises. Police were alerted at about 8pm on Monday that a man was being kept inside and threatened. The caller also warned that those involved might be carrying firearms.

Local Police and Civil Guard officers attended the scene. Some officers secured the area while others entered the premises because of the risk to the man’s safety. They found the victim with visible injuries and released him. Medical services took him to hospital for treatment.

The four men are being investigated on suspicion of unlawful detention, causing injury, illegal possession of firearms and a public health offence. Officers seized firearms, ammunition and various drugs, including cannabis, hashish, cocaine, THC products and resins. They also found precision scales and other items linked to the possible distribution of drugs. The investigation is continuing, and the seized material has been placed at the disposal of the court. Police have not disclosed why the man was allegedly detained.
