The president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has visited Almoradí to mark the opening of the municipality’s fourth school, the El Gabato infant and primary school. The project has involved an investment of more than €8.5 million and has been designed to meet the town’s growing educational needs.

The new centre covers 6,007 square metres and has capacity for 735 pupils across 30 classrooms for infant and primary education. Its facilities include modern classrooms, a library, music and computer rooms, a gym, a school garden, outdoor areas and 1,936 square metres of sports courts.

Local officials said the school would increase educational capacity and help reduce pressure on existing centres. It is the only newly built school to open in the Vega Baja this academic year. Almoradí has invested more than €14 million in improving its education facilities in recent years.

The opening event was attended by Education Minister María del Carmen Ortí, Mayor María Gómez and councillor Susana Miralles. The celebrations included magic, a K-pop tribute act, stilt walkers and circus entertainment.
