Cartagena’s Finance Commission has approved a new grants scheme to help educational centres finance air conditioning. Only two schools across the municipality currently have air conditioning in every classroom.
The local government says the grants are an initial response to the lack of climate-control systems in schools. They form part of a municipal plan announced by Mayor Noelia Arroyo this summer, after the end of the last school year.
