Thousands of people have attended solidarity events for Ceuta across the Region of Murcia. The gatherings took place on Wednesday, coinciding with the autonomous city’s day, as its population faced more than a month of disruption following the irregular arrival of more than 70,000 people.
The largest events were held in Murcia and Cartagena, where crowds showed their support for Ceuta’s residents. The day was also marked by political tension, with the crisis becoming a source of confrontation between regional and local parties.
Political forces exchanged accusations including claims of boycott and betrayal. Those comments contrasted with repeated calls for unity and solidarity with Ceuta.
