The Guardia Civil has dismantled an alleged criminal group accused of selling drugs from five homes in San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar, in Murcia. The operation was led by the ROCA team based in Torrevieja and uncovered an indoor cannabis plantation containing 250 plants.

Officers searched the five properties and seized cocaine, heroin, hashish, cannabis and nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. They also found €1,151 in cash, precision scales, mobile phones and other items linked to preparing and selling drugs. The plantation used extractors, air filters, lights and fans.

Ten people were arrested initially, followed by two more arrests. Twelve people are being investigated in total, including 10 adults and two minors. Five suspects, including the minors, were released from police custody and referred to the Murcia Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The seven suspects brought before the court in Orihuela have been released under precautionary measures.

The suspects face alleged charges of drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal group and electricity theft. The investigation began after an earlier intervention at a cannabis-growing operation, with subsequent evidence and surveillance leading officers to the alleged network.
