The Guardia Civil has dismantled a criminal group specialising in robberies at gambling halls in the Vega Baja area. Six suspects, four men and two women aged between 20 and 28, were arrested in Almoradí and Murcia over two raids in Callosa de Segura and Rojales. The total amount stolen exceeded 33,000 euros.

The investigation, led by officers in Callosa de Segura and Almoradí under Operations Randoma and Jackpot-26, began after a robbery at a gaming hall in Callosa. Detectives established that the group followed a consistent and carefully planned method to maximise the money available inside the machines.

According to the Guardia Civil, several members first entered the premises as customers and fed large quantities of banknotes into gaming machines. They repeatedly requested ticket refunds, concentrating significant sums inside the machines without losing cash. Once the deposit was full, other members, their faces covered and carrying tools, forced the machines and removed the cash boxes. More than 23,000 euros was taken in Callosa alone.

In a second raid in Rojales, the suspects allegedly repeated the method and sprayed the manager with pepper spray before stealing over 10,000 euros. The six detainees have been brought before the investigating courts in Torrevieja and Orihuela.
