Four new professionals have formally taken up their posts at Torrevieja Town Hall as part of efforts to strengthen public services and improve administrative management. The appointments were confirmed by the Councillor for Personnel and Internal Affairs, María José Ruiz.

The new additions include a caretaker covering a temporary replacement to ensure continuity of service, and a permanent general administration officer assigned to the Heritage department. Two further general administration technicians have been recruited through a municipal employment programme. One will support the departments of Security and Emergencies and Public Roads, while the other joins the Intervention area.

Ruiz said the new roles will reinforce departments facing a high administrative workload and are essential for the daily running of the council, the delivery of municipal projects and the provision of quality public services. She added that the expansion and specialisation of staff reflects Torrevieja’s continued growth in population, activity and services.

In recent years, the council has expanded and reorganised its workforce. In 2025, new Local Police officers, a social worker, technical architects and an education administration officer joined. Earlier this month, a new Mobility Agents unit of 20 officers and one supervisor began operating. The council is also running the “Torrevieja Ocupa-T 2026” employment programme, which will temporarily recruit 27 people across administrative, legal, social, business and IT roles.
