Eight vehicles have been destroyed in a series of suspected arson attacks in Guardamar del Segura.
According to the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Alicante, the fires began on Doctor Luis Rivera Street late on Saturday night and then spread to other nearby roads. Emergency services received the first alert at 23:04 on 18 July, and crews remained at the scene until 04:00 the following morning.
Firefighters from Almoradà and Orihuela attended, with additional support from Torrevieja, as they worked to control several separate blazes during the night. Officials believe the vehicles were set alight deliberately.
No injuries were reported and the damage was limited to property. The Guardia Civil has taken over the investigation to determine who was responsible.
