National Police have dismantled a suspected drug trafficking organisation in Elche, arresting seven people – six men and one woman aged between 31 and 43. They are being investigated for alleged drug trafficking and membership of a criminal group.

The operation involved officers from Alicante, Elche and Albacete. During the final phase of the investigation, police carried out four simultaneous searches at properties in Elche, seizing 85 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of cannabis, 6,850 euros in cash, three precision scales, two mobile phones and three bladed weapons.

The inquiry began after residents reported that a known street-level drug dealing point in a house in Elche had become active again. The address had previously been dismantled on three occasions. Surveillance operations identified a steady flow of visitors and a hierarchical structure within the group, with members assigned roles including surveillance, handling cash and distributing drugs.

Police said the organisation also supplied other street-level dealing points in Elche. The main property had four reinforced access doors secured with chains, making entry difficult. After appearing before an investigating court in Elche, the alleged leader, who has previous arrests for similar offences, has been remanded in prison.
