A driver has died after a single-vehicle crash on the RM-605 between Los Dolores and the district of El Plan in Cartagena.
Emergency services were alerted at 4.51pm on Saturday by several calls to the 112 emergency number reporting that a car had left the road near the AP-7 motorway. Callers said the vehicle had overturned and that the sole occupant was trapped and unconscious inside.
Firefighters from Cartagena City Council attended the scene alongside Local Police, the Guardia Civil and an ambulance from the 061 Emergency Health Service. Crews worked to free the driver from the wreckage.
Despite their efforts, paramedics were only able to confirm the person’s death at the scene. Judicial authorities and a forensic doctor were requested to attend.
