Torrevieja’s Environmental Police have confirmed that a dog reported on a vacant plot between Calle Ciudad de Barcelona and Calle Diego Ramírez was in good health. The inspection followed a public alert and was carried out in coordination with the council’s Animal Protection Department.

Officers visited the site and contacted the owner after speaking to the residents who raised the concern. A visual inspection identified the dog near a kennel at the rear of the plot, where there was also a large amount of dry vegetation.

With the owner’s permission, police carried out a full inspection and confirmed the dog had clean water, food and a shaded area. The animal showed no signs of illness, injury or neglect. The owner has since agreed to move the dog permanently to her home to prevent any issues during periods of high temperatures.

The council has also ordered the immediate clearance of dry vegetation on the plot to reduce the risk of fire and pest problems. Police will continue to monitor the situation and have summoned the owner to present the dog’s documentation and vaccination records in line with current regulations.
