Twenty new trainee local police officers have formally taken up their posts at San Javier Town Hall. The swearing-in ceremony was held on Wednesday morning in the council chamber.
A further officer, the twenty-first in this intake, is currently completing practical training at another local authority and is expected to join the force shortly.
During the same event, four new sub-inspectors from the municipal Local Police force were also sworn in. With the latest additions, the total number of officers now stands at 80.
Mayor José Miguel Luengo said the force is expected to grow further in the coming months, reaching 83 officers by the end of the year, strengthening public safety provision across the municipality.
