Torrevieja Council has completed a major project to modernise and expand public lighting in several parts of the municipality, with a total investment of 177,739.53 euros including VAT. The scheme forms part of the council’s wider strategy to upgrade urban infrastructure, improve energy efficiency and strengthen safety in streets, squares and public spaces.

Work has been carried out in Eugenio Segarra Torregrosa, Gardenias and Travesía Frasquito, as well as in the green area of Patricio Pérez, the roundabout on Avenida Rosa Mazón Valero, Plaza Islas Canarias and the area around the CV-905 towards Calle Orihuela. Existing lighting circuits have been extended and new light points installed in previously unlit areas.

In high footfall locations such as the Avenida Rosa Mazón Valero roundabout and Plaza Islas Canarias, new columns and luminaires have been fitted to improve visibility for both pedestrians and drivers.

In the CV-905 and Calle Orihuela area, the council has installed a new control cabinet, added luminaires with pedestrian proximity sensors and introduced 46 point-to-point remote management modules. The contract was awarded through an open simplified procedure for 177,739.53 euros, representing a 20.12% saving on the initial tender budget.
