Torrevieja Council has approved the final construction projects for the new Sea and Salt Museum and its surrounding area, with a total tender budget of 15,494,541 euros including VAT. The scheme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The planned construction period is 20 months from the formal signing of the works contract.

The investment includes 11.76 million euros for the museum building and 3.73 million euros for the new upper promenade, to be known as the Paseo de la Sal. The project also covers the restoration of the historic Salt Works Administration House and the Caballete structure at Las Eras de la Sal.

A separate open-air auditorium intended to host the International Habaneras Competition is not included in this phase. The council has said that project, with a budget expected to exceed 10 million euros, will be announced in the coming weeks and tendered in parallel.

The council describes the initiative as one of the most important strategic urban regeneration projects in the town. It aims to restore and enhance the historic salt yard area, improve pedestrian access and strengthen links between the museum, the seafront and surrounding public spaces.
